Rebecca Wiley was appointed Medical Center Director, DORN VAMC in Columbia, South Carolina on November 20, 2011. She has spent the last 28 years in service to Veterans nationwide.
Prior to coming to Columbia, Ms Wiley served as Medical Center Director at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Augusta, GA. Her tenure there began in February 2007. From February 2004 to 2007, Ms Wiley served as Acting Director and Associate Director at Sonny Montgomery VAMC, in Jackson, Mississippi. While Acting Director, she led relief efforts to sister medical centers in Mississippi and Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina and received a personal commendation from the Secretary VA for her leadership. In 2003, Ms Wiley served as Deputy Director for the CARES Commission, Washington DC and from 1999 to 2003 she held various positions at the Augusta, GA VAMC.
Ms Wiley began her VA career in May 1983 as a Nursing Supervisor at VAMC, Knoxville, Iowa. She assumed positions of increasing responsibility as Chief of Long Term Care and then as Staff Assistant to the Chief of Staff in Knoxville, Iowa. In 1996, she became the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff at Central Iowa VA Health Care System, Des Moines, IA.
Ms Wiley, an Iowa native, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Iowa and a Master of Public Health from Indiana University. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and previously held membership in Sigma Theta Tau and ETA Sigma Gamma. She is a graduate of Leadership VA class of 2000, ECF class of 2003 and VA SES Candidate Development Program class of 2004. She is a fellow in the VHA Coach/Mentor program and has served as a coach/mentor in the VA SES Candidate Development program, Executive Career Field and in theNetwork Executive Health Care Leadership institute. (NEHCLI) She has previously held adjunct professorships at the University of Mississippi and Medical College of Georgia.
Ms Wiley is married to Richard Wall and their combined family consists of 6 children and 4 grandchildren.

Jon Zivony was selected to be Acting Associate Director at the Dorn VA Medical Center in January 2011. Mr. Zivony began his VA Career in 2002 as an Administrative Resident in VISN 7, and served at the Atlanta VAMC as the Administrative Officer for Nursing and Patient Care Services from 2003 through 2006. He then worked in VA Central Office in Washington as a Health System Specialist in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Operations and Management from 2006 to 2009 before accepting the position of VISN 7 Strategic Planner in May 2009. Mr. Zivony served as the Acting Assistant Director at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta from May 2010 to December 2010.
Mr. Zivony received his BBA in Finance and an MBA/MHA with a concentration in Finance from Georgia State University. He is a 2009 ECF Candidate; Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, member of VISN 7 Health Systems and Human Resources Councils, and is Co-Chair of the VISN 7 Strategic Planning Council. He has also served as member and Chair of several national VA committees. Mr. Zivony is married with a 2 year old son.

Ms. Jill Dietrich was appointed as the Acting Assistant Director at the Dorn VA Medical Center in April 2012. She comes to Dorn VAMC from Chalmers P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus, Ohio where she was the Facility Planner and Staff Assistant to the Associate Director.
Prior to working at Columbus, Ms. Dietrich was employed at the Lebanon VAMC in Pennsylvania as the Program Manager of Acute Care & Specialty Services. In addition to serving in this position, Ms. Dietrich has had varied VA experiences in Public Affairs, privacy/FOIA, Health Administration, and Primary Care. Ms. Dietrich received her BA in Political Science and Psychology fron Indiana University and her JD/MBA from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Alfred Boykin was selected as the Chief of Staff in November 2001. His previous assignments at Dorn VAMC include Acting Chief of Staff; Director, Primary Care and Subspecialty Medicine Service Line; Chief, Pulmonary Section; Director, MICU; and Director, Cardiac Care Unit. Positions at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine have included Professor of Medicine, Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care, Director of Pulmonary Fellowship Program, MICU Rotation Course Director and Co-chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Boykin’s primary responsibilities as Chief of Staff include leadership and overall direction of all clinical service line directors. In addition, he continues to conduct Pulmonary Clinics twice as week and takes MICU call.
Dr. Boykin was born in Columbia, South Carolina and graduated from Wofford College, SC in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He received his Medical Doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Charleston, SC, in 1970. His post-graduate education includes an Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, AL; Internal Medicine Residency at MUSC, Charleston, SC; Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at MUSC, Charleston, SC; and Fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases at MUSC, Charleston, SC. He holds professional memberships in the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society.
Dr. Boykin’s VA accomplishments include the development and implementation of the Pulmonary Care and Critical Care Sections at Dorn VAMC in 1976, as well as the residency program in 1977. He participated in the VA-based Pulmonary Fellowship Program from 1981 to 1996, with 27 fellows graduating over this 15-year period.
Dr. Boykin is married and has three grown children. He enjoys hunting, fishing and the family farm. Dr. Boykin resides in Columbia, SC.

Mrs. Ruth Mustard was selected as the Nurse Executive in November, 1999. Her previous assignments have all been at the Dorn VA. She started out as a graduate nurse technician in August, 1977 and has had positions as staff nurse, Head Nurse, Assistant Chief, Night Supervisor, and Acting Chief Nurse. Her primary clinical background is critical care.
Mrs. Mustard’s primary responsibilities as the Associate Director for Patient/Nursing Services include leadership and authority over the Acute Hospital Service Line, which includes acute and long term inpatient nursing staff, chaplain service, respiratory therapy, SPD, ward clerks, admissions and transfers, clinical nutrition, food service, cardiology, GI procedure clinic, and social work. She is responsible for overall nursing care throughout the Medical Center. She serves as the VISN 7 member of the National Nursing Executive Council and also serves on the VISN 7 Geriatrics and Extended Care Service Line, VISN 7 Acute Care Service Line, VISN 7 Clinical Executive Board, and the VISN 7 Executive Leadership Council.
Mrs. Mustard was born in Abilene, Kansas and graduated from Marymount College of Kansas in Salina, KS in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She received a Master of Science degree in Nursing Administration from the University of South Carolina College of Nursing in 1996. She holds professional memberships in the South Carolina Organization of Nurse Executives, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She is certified as a critical care nurse and has taught Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses for the past 13 years. She was an Amy V. Cockcroft Leadership Fellow in 1998 at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing. Mrs. Mustard is serving on the Colleagues in Caring Coordinating Council, a project partially funded by the Robert Wood Johnson foundation to study nursing workforce issues in South Carolina.
Mrs. Mustard was selected as the Clinical Federal Woman of the Year at Dorn in 1999 and received the Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Nursing in 1997.
She is married to a South Carolina Air Guardsman and has a 15 year old daughter, a 13 year old son and an 8 year old son. Most of her time away from the Medical Center is involved with family activities and attending sporting events of her three children, although she does make time for walking and bargain shopping. Mrs. Mustard resides in Lexington, SC
