Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center to host Open House and Veteran’s Town Hall in Columbia

COLUMBIA - William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veterans Affairs Healthcare System will host an Open House on June 15 from 2 to 6 p.m. with a Veteran’s Town Hall scheduled from 4 to 5 p.m. in the auditorium (Building 5).  Veterans, family members, and the public are invited to attend.

Representatives from more than 30 areas of the Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, and the National Cemetery Administration will be present. The Columbia VA Regional Office will also participate and will have individualized claims assistance available. Additionally, Dorn VA staff will be available during the event to assist with enrolling Veterans for VA health care.

During the event leadership and representatives from the Dorn VA and the Veteran Benefits Administration’s Regional Office will be available to provide updates about the Dorn VA Medical Center and its seven outpatient clinics, provide tours of the facility, showcase services available to Veterans, and discuss Veteran’s benefits in general.

The VA is dedicated to serving the needs of the more than 22 million men and women living today who have served in this nation's armed forces. “Locally, we service more than 83,000, but we know there are thousands of Veterans who do not use the VA, and we’d truly like to reach out to them as well,” said David Omura, the Director/CEO of the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.
