Adopt-a-Basket for Columbia VAHCS Veterans underway

COLUMBIA – The 3rd Annual Adopt-a-Basket for the Columbia Veterans Affairs Health Care System has begun, and the public is invited to volunteer and help our Veterans who need that extra boost to make it through the holidays.

Items for the Veterans in need who are a part of the Columbia VAHCS will receive items donated before the Christmas holiday.

Donated uncooked canned and packaged items should include rice, gravy, green beans, fried onions, boxed dressing, yams, macaroni, evaporated milk, instant mashed potatoes, cake mix, cake icing, mushroom soup, cranberry sauce and cornbread mix.

All items should be rendered to the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn Voluntary Services Office, located at 6439 Garners Ferry Road in Columbia, S.C.

Deadline for donations is Friday, Dec. 7. For more information about volunteering or donations, please contact the Voluntary Service Office at 803.695.6780.
