As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019…
Columbia VA Health Care System status: The Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical center and all community-based outpatient clinics are operational at this time and will remain open for all appointments. No appointment cancellations are planned at the moment, but Columbia VA leadership is monitoring Dorian’s track and will make adjustments as necessary. The Columbia VA will continue to provide periodic updates on the Columbia VA HCS’ Facebook and Twitter (@VAColumbiaSC) sites, as well as the public website (www.columbiasc.va.gov) until the storm passes.
Veterans who wish to reschedule their appointments should call the TAP line at (803) 647-5829 or (800) 293-8262.
Veterans who have questions may also contact the Veteran Disaster Hotline at (800) 507-4571.
Employee status: All employees should continue report to their respective areas at the beginning of their tour of duty. By now, all employees should have their emergency plans in place to ensure their families are safe. Guidance on status for the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center and all clinics will be updated as more information and updated storm projections become available. A final decision, if any, regarding staff that will be needed to shelter in place will be determined as hurricane projections are updated and will be communicated to staff by their immediate supervisor. Questions regarding work status should be addressed by your supervisor.
DAV Transportation: DAV transportation for appointments this week is operational currently.
Patient Prescription Refills: Prescriptions received from the Charleston CMOP will be processed and mailed from other CMOPs.
Secure Messaging/Call Center: Both are operational and accepting messages and calls.
