Columbia VA to close three clinics in advance of Hurricane Dorian

COLUMBIA, South Carolina – The Columbia VA Health Care System will close the community-based outpatient clinics in Florence, Orangeburg, and Sumter tomorrow (Sept. 5) in advance of Hurricane Dorian.

“Out of an abundance of caution, and for the safety of Veterans and the employees, I have made the decision to close these clinics in advance of Hurricane Dorian, said David Omura, the Columbia VA HCS Director/CEO. “Plans are to reopen Friday, Sept. 6, 2019.”

If Veterans have a medical emergency, they should call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest open emergency room.   For non-urgent medical care, please go to the nearest open VA medical facility or contact the Columbia VA Health Care System at (803) 647-5829 or (800) 293-8262.
