Columbia VA Health Care System
Research and Development
The Columbia VA Health Care System has an active research and development program, including studies in cardiology, oncology, endocrinology, post-traumatic stress disorder, health services research and nurse staffing, all of which enhance our ability to provide state-of-the-art care to our Veteran patients.
Columbia VA also has an affiliated non-profit research foundation, the Dorn Research Institute, Inc., or DRI http://dornresearchinstitute.org/index.html). The DRI was formed in 1997 and facilitates VA-approved research projects for VA researchers. DRI is dedicated to enhancing health care for veterans by utilizing its ability to obtain resources from a variety of sources otherwise unavailable to the VA.
Our research is veteran-focused and provides our clinicians with the ability to develop and implement new therapies. Through our research we offer our patients hope and the best quality, evidence-based care available.
