COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information

As of March 23, 2020:

All facilities within the Columbia VA HCS are now limited to one entry point.

VETERANS –
If you have flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, CALL us at (803) 647-5829 or Toll Free at (888) 651-2683 prior to coming to the facility. In addition to calling first, consider using virtual care options such as telehealth or My HealtheVet Secure Messaging. Read VA’s latest information on the new coronavirus at https://tinyurl.com/ts7mpd2.

All Veterans WILL need to enter through the appropriate screening process via the tent at Columbia or checkpoints at the community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). All Veterans who enter any of the Columbia VA Health Care System’s facilities will be pre-screened and we are suspending visitor entry until further notice.Visitors will be asked to wait in their car or at a table/bench for the Veteran to complete their appointment.

The Columbia VA HCS leadership has suspended the valet parking service at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center. Veterans are encouraged to park in any designated parking spot, including the area normally reserved for valet parking. As always, you can reach our Telephone Advice Program at (803) 647-5829 or Toll Free at (888) 651-2683.

EMPLOYEES –
All VA employees (regardless of building) will be required to enter the facility from the main entrance of Building 106 (nearest the parking garage). Employees at the Dorn campus, CBOCs, and Hampton Street will be asked two screening questions and will have their temperatures taken. If you screen positive, you will be asked to return to your vehicle and to notify your supervisor immediately for appropriate leave approval. Please be advised, all PIV card access has been turned off at the Dorn campus and therefore, when leaving the facility, you will only be able to gain re-entry through Building 106 main entrance.

Screening at Building 106 will be manned 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and CBOCs/Hampton Street during operating hours until further notice. Please plan accordingly if you exit any of the facilities during your duty hours. It is the expectation that all employees will remain cordial and comply with this request.

Please check back here periodically for future updates.
